The Hanover Township Green Team cordially invites township residents and municipal employees to attend their free Community Shred Day Event and Food Drive to benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry. The dual event, which is rain or shine, will be held on Saturday, November 6th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the Multi-Purpose Community Center Parking lot located at 15 North Jefferson Road, in the Whippany section of Hanover Township.
For COVID-19 safety compliance, the event will be contactless. Participants must wear masks and will not be allowed to exit their vehicles at any time, not even to watch the shredding of their paper. Drivers should have their trunks open for Green Team members to safely remove any donated non-perishable food brought for the food drive, and documents to be shredded, from the vehicle. Drivers will be required to show their license for identification. Residents and employees are encouraged to pre-register for the event here - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040449a8ad2ea3fa7-november1
Only documents placed in paper shopping bags or cardboard boxes can be accepted. Documents must be free from paper clips, rubber, and other “non-shreddable materials.” No wet paper, newspapers, cardboard, magazines, books, or other bound items.
The Green Team looks forward to assisting the community in safely, confidentially shredding their unwanted documents. They would also like to thank residents and municipal employees for their anticipated support in bringing non-perishable items to be sent to the Interfaith Food Pantry to help Morris County families who may be struggling during the upcoming holiday season to put food on their table as a result of the economic fallout from COVID-19. A Green Team reusable cloth bag will be placed in the vehicle if requested.
If residents have any questions, please e-mail the Green Team at email@example.com for assistance.
