Status of COVID-19 Vaccinations & Waiting Lists

"Getting a vaccine will keep you from getting COVID-19"

We continue to receive inquiries regarding where residents can register or be placed on a waiting list for the COVID-19 vaccine. Neither the municipality nor the County maintains vaccination waiting lists for priority groups or residents.

As per the federal vaccination plans, vaccine distribution is phased and guided by the federal allotments and state plans. Hospitals received shipments of vaccines for their healthcare workers; however, the vaccine for non-hospital group 1A individuals (i.e. first responders) and the general populations has not been distributed yet. As per the NJDOH, a phased approach is being used to ensure that the vaccine is distributed in an equitable manner until greater quantities of vaccine become available. Vaccine distribution across NJ and decisions about priority groups “will likely change based on supply and demand.”

The County Department of Law & Public Safety is in regular communication with the state public health and emergency management partners regarding the status of the vaccine and has activated plans and resources for vaccination of priority groups.

Once the vaccine is received by the County and authorization is provided for mass vaccinations to commence from the state, the information will be released via a massive NJDOH public information campaign (e.g. press releases, television commercials, social media, etc). Instructions on how to obtain a vaccination will be included. The County will also assist with this public information campaign effort. The information will contain details on how residents can receive the two-dose vaccine.

It is best to keep up-to-date by visiting the NJDOH COVID-19 vaccination site:
