The Township has received several complaints concerning poor customer service and cable outages related to the Altice franchise (formerly Cablevision/Optimum). As a result, the Township contacted the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) which has oversight authority over public utilities such as cable TV. The BPU has been advised of the complaints received to date and has directed the BPU’s Office of Cable Television and Telecommunications (OCTV&T) to investigate directly with Altice.
In addition, residents can file their complaints concerning cable television issues by visiting the BPU’s website at the following link:
Alternatively, residents have the option of also filing their complaints directly with Altice by clicking the following “customer service referrals” link:
You may also call the BPU’s toll-free complaint hotline at 1-800-624-02331. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the BPU offices are closed but you may leave a message with your complaint and contact information. A staff member will then contact you.
