The New Jersey Department of Transportation has advised the Township of Hanover that it will reconstruct a portion of Route 10 westbound from the on-ramp to Route 287 north to a point where the Route 287 south off-ramp intersects with Route 10 west. The project will involve the jackhammering and removal of the concrete pavement and the construction of a new asphalt riding surface.
Weather permitting, some of the work will be done over four (4) consecutive weekends in April and May. This work will be done continuously around the clock starting on Friday night at approximately 11 p.m. through Monday morning ending at approximately 5 a.m. The work will necessitate the closure of all but one or two lanes of traffic westbound. The overnight activity would permit westbound Route 10 to operate normally during the daytime, Mondays to Fridays.
After the round-the-clock weekend work, daytime work will commence for approximately 4 to 6 weeks with a minimum of two lanes open to westbound traffic.
To complete the project, there will be two nights of paving operations requiring lane closures and lane shifts.
