Elections/Voter Information

The Municipal Clerk is the chief administrative officer for Primary and General Elections held in the Township of Hanover. The following election forms are available by downloading online at the Morris County Election Office website www.morriselections.org: Voter Registration Application and Mail Ballot Application.  For assistance on Mail-In Ballots, call the County Clerk’s Office at 973-285-6066.

Hanover Township’s voting districts are as follows:

  • District #1 ~ Hildale Park Presbyterian Church, Main Meeting Room, 85 Ridgedale Ave 
  • District #2 & District #3 ~ Mountview Road School, Gym, 30 Mountview Road
  • District #4 ~ Community Center, Main Meeting Room, 15 N Jefferson Road
  • District #5 ~ Memorial Junior School, Foyer, 61 Highland Ave
  • District #6 ~ Whippany Park High School, Room #411, 165 Whippany Rd
  • District #7 and District #8 ~ Salem Drive School, Gym, 29 Salem Dr
  • District #9 ~ Bee Meadow School, Gym, 120 Reynolds Ave

Find Your Polling Place, Ward, Voting District Information

The New Jersey Division of Elections website lets you find your Ward, polling place, and voting district information by filling out an online form with your registered voting address.

If an exact match is found in the state’s records, you will be provided with your Polling Place, Voting Area District, and the County Election Official information. If no match is found, please contact the Municipal Clerk’s Office for polling place location at 973-428-2471.

Who Can Register to Vote?

To register to vote in New Jersey you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • At least 18 years old by the next election
  • A resident of your home county for 30 days before the election

Not Eligible to Register

You are not eligible to register to vote if you are serving a sentence or on parole or probation, as a result of a conviction of an indictable offense under state or federal law or have been adjudged mentally incompetent.
