The Travelling Teens Program provides for the social, mental, and physical growth of the camper through a variety of trips and activities in a safe and fun environment.
The program is open to Hanover Township residents entering grades 7 through 9 in September 2019. The program will begin on Monday, July 8, 2019, and ends on Friday, August 2, 2019. This program is available in two-week sessions. The cost for each two-week session is $750.00 or all four weeks for $1,350.00 until May 19th. After May 19th each two-week session is $775.00 or $1,400.00 for all four weeks. A minimum payment of $400.00 is due at the time of registration, half of the remaining balance by June 1 and the balance on or before July 1st. If payment in full is not received by July 1st your child will not be able to attend the program and there will be no refunds. In addition, there will be no refunds for sessions participant cannot attend!
Participants will be transported each day to a different location as noted on the Travelling Teens Calendar under strict supervision. If your child chooses to bring personal belongings (video games, cell phones, etc.) please be aware that the Travelling Teens staff is not responsible for any personal belongings!
Participants entering grades 7-9 will be dropped off and picked up at the Hanover Township Community Center, 15 N. Jefferson Road, Whippany.
The camp will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and pick up time is 4:30 p.m. unless you are notified in advance that a trip will not return to the Recreation Center by 4:30 p.m. A later return may be due to traveling distance or the end time of the trip. Please be aware that late pickups are a major imposition on the program staff. Therefore, there will be a $1.00 late fee assessed for every minute you are late after 5:00 p.m. Please pay this fee directly to the camp director at the time of pick-up.
Participants are divided into small groups led by head adult counselors.
Participants are expected to wear proper attire and sneakers every day. No flip-flops or crocs allowed! Camp t-shirts and proper footwear must be worn on all trips.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures:
Your child must be signed in and signed out of the program each day that he or she attends. This signature must be that of an individual whose name is on Form B: Drop-off and Release Authorization. If none of the authorized individuals are able to sign in/sign out the camper, please provide a written note to the Program Director indicating the person designated to sign the camper in/out on that day. No camper is allowed to walk or ride his or her bike to this program.
Registration for Travelling Teens will be held at the Community Center on the following two dates:
- Thursday, May 2 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Due to limited capacity, it is strongly suggested that campers sign up at for the Travelling Teen program during the in-person registration dates. Each child will receive two t-shirts. Shirts will be available at a later date for pick-up at the Recreation Center. You will be notified when the shirts have been delivered and ready for pick-up. Additional t-shirts will be available to purchase for $10.00. Registration for the Travelling Teens is limited.
A daily itinerary will be emailed to each participant at the beginning of June.
