NEW JERSEY DROUGHT WATCH IN EFFECT
On September 3, 2015, NJDEP issued a “Drought Watch” for Northeast, Central, and Coastal North Drought Regions including SMCMUA’s service area in Morris County. At this time, SMCMUA has not issued any mandatory water conversation advisories and will continue to monitor the situation and notify the public in the event that water use restrictions will be required.
NJDEP’s “Drought Watch” announcement calls for voluntary efforts by the public to curtail unnecessary water use, especially outdoors for activities such as lawn and landscape watering and other water-dependent activities around the home.
Additional information regarding the drought conditions and water conservation recommendations can be found on NJDEP’s website: www.NJDROUGHT.org.
